Mrs. Melissa Dickman – Assistant Principal

I’m honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Barkley Bridge Elementary! It’s a joy to work alongside such a dedicated team of educators, supportive families, and incredible students each day. At Barkley Bridge, we strive to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Before stepping into administration, I spent 26 years in the classroom, where I developed a passion for supporting both students and teachers. My experiences have shaped my belief that strong relationships, high expectations, and a nurturing school culture are key to student success.

I’m proud to be a part of Hartselle City Schools and to support the mission of excellence in education. Whether I’m visiting classrooms, helping a student solve a problem, or working with teachers to enhance instruction—I’m here to serve.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and cheering on my favorite teams. I’m grateful to be part of the Barkley Bridge family and look forward to an amazing school year!
