Special Areas Support at Barkley Bridge

At Barkley Bridge Elementary, we believe every child is unique—and we’re committed to meeting the diverse learning needs of all our students. Our Special Areas team works collaboratively to provide individualized support, enrichment, and interventions that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Gifted Education

Our gifted program challenges and inspires students who show high academic potential. Through creative projects, problem-solving, and enrichment activities, we encourage advanced learners to think critically, explore their interests, and develop their talents.

Special Education

We provide a caring and supportive learning environment for students with a variety of learning differences. Our special education teachers create individualized education plans (IEPs) and work closely with classroom teachers to ensure every student receives the accommodations and support they need to thrive.

Speech & Language Services

Our speech-language pathologist supports students in developing strong communication skills. Services may include help with articulation, language development, fluency, and social communication, tailored to meet each child's specific needs.

Reading Specialist Support

Our reading specialist works with students who need extra help building foundational literacy skills. Through targeted instruction and small-group interventions, we focus on boosting reading confidence, comprehension, and fluency.

Math Coach

Our math coach supports both teachers and students by providing instructional strategies, small-group intervention, and enrichment opportunities. The goal is to deepen students’ understanding of math concepts and build confidence in problem-solving.
