Fourth Grade Teachers
Fourth Grade Department Goals
Fourth Grade at Barkley Bridge Elementary is all about building independence, sharpening academic skills, and preparing students for upper grade level success. It’s a year of growth, leadership, and increased responsibility.
Our goals for fourth grade include:
-
Enhancing Reading Comprehension and Analysis
Students dive deeper into fiction and nonfiction texts, learning to make inferences, identify themes, and support their thinking with evidence. -
Strengthening Writing Across Genres
From opinion pieces to research projects, students focus on organizing ideas clearly and using strong grammar, vocabulary, and structure in their writing. -
Deepening Math Understanding
We focus on multi-digit multiplication and division, fractions and decimals, and problem-solving strategies that develop mathematical reasoning. -
Promoting Independence and Accountability
Students take more responsibility for their learning by setting goals, managing assignments, and developing strong study habits. -
Fostering Leadership and Teamwork
Fourth graders are encouraged to be role models, work cooperatively, and contribute positively to the classroom and school community.
Our fourth grade team is committed to helping each child grow academically and personally in a supportive, engaging environment. We believe in empowering students to take charge of their learning and believe in themselves!
