Library Media Center

Mrs. Dutton – Library Media Specialist
I absolutely LOVE being the Library Media Specialist at Barkley Bridge Elementary! It’s amazing how the traditional “quiet library” of the past has transformed into the exciting, hands-on, creative space it is today.
Our library is so much more than books on shelves—it’s a place where students explore, build, tinker, create, and dive into STEM activities that spark curiosity and imagination. Yes, reading is still at the heart of everything we do—it’s the most vital part!—but we pair it with tons of fun, energy, and opportunities for learning and discovery.
From roaring read-alouds to makerspace magic, every day in the library is an adventure. I’m thrilled to be part of a space where students grow not just as readers, but as thinkers, creators, and lifelong learners.
Mission Statement: The mission of the library is to empower students to become enthusiastic readers, critical thinkers, and responsible users of information in a safe and engaging learning environment.
